This month June will be 1 year building Ask Seve. From end-of-lifing my previous travel app and parting with the Map Your City team, I jumped in to building with AI.

Triggered by a build weekend made possible by Lovable - I started with the future vision I had for Map Your City but could not build upon its legacy tech stack. Building for three days straight, got me a fully working prototype - and I was hooked.

As the AI tools improved quicly so did Seve. And today was the first time I noticed Seve's chat functionality has passed a conversational level I did not expect yet.

Building an AI agent is not all about AI, it is about how to integrate tools that the agent naturally calls when appropriate, it's about holding context in conversation, it's about rules, paths to follow, setting regex patterns, multi-language patterns and so much more.

A year ago I did not know anything about building an agent, but I just jumped in.

No designers or developers by my side, just me, AI and a backpack full of domain knowledge. Building a project so intrinsically complex, that had I understood the necessary level of deep knowledge required in advance, I would most likely not have started.

But I did.
